A New Year and a Fresh Attempt at being Organised

Okay one day does not an organised person make... but at least I am starting as I mean to go on..

Today is the start day for s62011 (Super Special Six Personal Sock Club 2011)  this month is Shur'tugal, have cast on and completed the rib and two and a half pattern repeats, so a semi flying start.

My knitting is being interupted by some bag making (new crafting) for my DD for her birthday... having only commenced the sewing today not likely to finish by the 4th but will give it a try.. finished one side today so a start at least. Its a little more I was going to say more complicated than I first thought, but its not really just fiddly and I do need to follow the instructions ....

I am attempting to do to the Tote.... hopefully DD will find it useful

Another year of Not Being Organised is about to end.....

Here it is the end of 2010, and I haven't blogged since February... it's embarrassing to have to admit that but in blogland there is not place to hide when your a lazy and disorganised blogger...

But another year is about to start and yet another opportunity to chronicle my year presents itself..

On to better blogging say I...

Cursed Knitting

I have semi-retired the Lyttelton Shrug it has been sent to the sulking basket for a time out


Is it the yarn, no it’s Lush so that is not the problem. Lush is never a problem, wonderful colour. The pattern, not likely its simple one piece construction shrug. Is it the recipient for whom this gift garment is being made for….. Definitely not as its for DD. Maybe the needle choice, yes I know I am clutching at straws……

Its none of the above. I know, just as you do, It’s ME !!!!!

I could say that the garment is cursed and maybe it is, who am I to laugh in the face of the unknown. Well not really the unknown we have all had one that garment or shawl that just didn’t seem to start well ( I know read pattern twice and twice again if necessary). No need to swatch ‘I always knit to gauge’ and went downhill from there, and even if at the end of this tortuous journey you end up with something useful you can take no joy in it, you just count yourself lucky that you survived ...

Do I Really Like Doing Lace

The truth is I love it, but IT does not even like me a little.. I have decided that not only can I not read my knitting but I cant count either. Both are necessary attributes to successful lace knitting.

Despite my poor maths I have completed my first lace project 'Forest Canopy by Susan Lawrence' from 'Ravelry' the yarn is one of my favourites, 'Marina' from Lush Yarn

I still need to block is to it is still more than a little undefined will post a new pic when its done..

Getting Organised .... is it a bridge to far

I am such a slack blogger/knitter I just dont follow through... I forget to blog, forget to update Rav and generally leave things as a mystery to not just those few who may follow me but to myself as well.... what changes did I make to that pattern, did I make changes at all...


So as a new year approaches so does a new sense of organisation.. Hopefully Rav will be used to its full extent and well as for blogging we will see...
